NBA star Embiid suspended for three games for shoving a journalist

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has disqualified Philadelphia Seventies center Joel Embiid for three regular season games for an altercation with a reporter in the locker room, the league's press office reported.

“Mutual respect is paramount in the relationship between players and members of the media in the NBA. While we understand that Joel received a personal insult because of the reporter's column, our interactions must remain professional on both sides and should never devolve into physical violence,” NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Joe Dumars said.

Embiid shoved The Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Marcus Hayes after a 107-124 game against Memphis on Nov. 2. This was reported by journalist Shams Charania on social media.
