San Antonio coach Popovich suffers minor stroke

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has suffered a minor stroke. According to the press service of the National Basketball Association (NBA) club, the incident occurred on November 2 when the 75-year-old coach felt unwell before a home game of the regular season against the Minnesota Timberwolves, which ended 113-103.

Popovich is expected to make a full recovery. The American coach has already begun the rehabilitation process, though there is no set timeline for his return. In his absence, assistant coach Mitch Johnson will take charge of the team.

Gregg Popovich has been at the helm of San Antonio since 1996, leading the team to five NBA championship titles under his guidance.

This season, the Spurs currently rank 12th in the Western Conference standings, with five wins and six losses.
