Manchester United to Pay Ten Hag £20 Million Compensation — The Athletic

Manchester United will pay Erik ten Hag £20 million in compensation following the early termination of his contract, reports The Athletic.

The club had extended Ten Hag’s contract in the summer of 2024, setting its expiry for 2026. Today, on 28 October, United announced the Dutch manager’s departure after the team’s recent 1-2 defeat against West Ham in the ninth round of the Premier League. Currently, United stands 14th in the league with 11 points and ranks 21st in the overall Europa League table.

Ten Hag took over United in the summer of 2022. During his tenure, the club played 128 matches, achieving 72 wins, 20 draws, and 36 losses. Under his guidance, United won the FA Cup in 2024 and the English League Cup in 2023.
