Portugal

Portugal secured their knockout stage spot after the second round. They beat Czechia (2:1) and Turkey (3:0). They suffered a defeat from Georgia (0:2) in the third round. However, Portugal had a half-reserve line-up in that game. However, that defeat ended an impressive 12-game winning streak Portugal had had with Roberto Martínez as their head coach. Portugal have reached the knockout stage of each European Championship they have ever participated in.

• At least 3 goals have been scored in regular time in 5 out of the last 7 European Championship games Portugal have played. Over 2.5 – 19/20

Slovenia

Slovenia have finally made it to the knockout stage in the second UEFA Euro tournament they participate in. They never managed to win a group stage game, though. They were tied with Denmark and Slovenia (1:1). They also finished their third round game against England in a goalless draw. Slovenia finished 3rd but qualified for the Round of 16. They were tied with Denmark on tiebreakers and finished behind them only because of disciplinary points.

Erik Janža will miss the game due to disqualification.

• Slovenia have scored at least a goal in 9 out of their last 10 official games. Slovenia Over 0.5 – 21/20

Portugal – Slovenia Prediction

A defeat suffered from Georgia is unlikely to affect the Portuguese squad as mostly the reserve players participated in that game. The conditions of the side are definitely good. They have won 12 out of their last 13 official games, most of them with at least a 2-goal lead.

Slovenia have advanced to the UEFA Euro knockout stage for the first time in their history. The will feel a lot of pressure in this match. Besides, Slovenia haven’t won any of their 6 European Championship games (5 draws, 1 defeat). They’re unlikely to end this poor run against one of the strongest European sides.

Portugal is much stronger than their opponents. They’re 6th in the FIFA ranking, while Slovenia are 57th. Portugal are likely to prove it in this game.

Our prediction is Portugal to win at 2/5 .
