Djokovic has reached at least five finals in each of the hard court "Masters 1000" tournaments
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, a holder of 24 Grand Slam titles, has now reached at least five finals in each of the hard court "Masters 1000" tournaments. Until recently, he still needed one more final appearance in Shanghai to achieve this.
However, today, October 12, Djokovic defeated Taylor Fritz in the semifinals of this tournament, advancing to his fifth "Masters" final in Shanghai. This accomplishment has allowed him to surpass former world number one Andy Murray from Britain, who has reached the Shanghai finals four times.
In the battle for the championship title, Djokovic will face Italy's world number one Jannik Sinner, who defeated Czech player Tomas Machac in the semifinals.
Should the Serbian triumph over the Italian, it would mark his 100th ATP tournament title.
