Iga Schwöntek was unable to reach the semi-finals of the Final Tournament due to her loss to Gauff

World number three American tennis player Corey Gauff lost to Czech Republic's Barbora Krejcikova in the group stage match of the WTA Tour Finals - 5:7, 4:6.

The match lasted 1 hour and 44 minutes. Gauff served ten times, made four double faults and converted one break point out of 12. Krejcikova had four aces, no double faults and three break points out of four.

As a result of this meeting Krejcikova took the first place in the Orange Group. Gauff remained in second place. World number two Iga Schwiontek was ranked third and did not reach the semi-finals, losing to the American on extra points.

The final WTA tournament takes place from 2 to 9 November in Riyadh.
