Nadal on the rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz: "Tennis is in safe hands"
Rafael Nadal, the Spaniard who is a 22-time Grand Slam champion, has shared his thoughts on the changing of the guard in men's tennis.
"Tennis is in safe hands. Jannik and Carlos are two great players who undoubtedly have brilliant futures ahead of them. I hope they can avoid injuries and continue to fuel this fantastic rivalry of theirs.
In terms of their skill level, it's clear that they are head and shoulders above the rest at the moment. Let's wait and see how the other players develop because it's incredibly challenging to remain at this summit consistently. Obviously, new contenders are emerging who bring unique skills and ingenuity, creating an even more competitive scene. I'm at ease and looking forward to savouring tennis from a spectator's perspective," Nadal shared at a press conference in Riyadh.
Italian Jannik Sinner and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz currently occupy the top two spots in the world rankings.
