Three tennis players have surpassed Djokovic in the number of finals reached at ATP tournaments
Today, October 12, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, currently ranked fourth in the world, defeated American Taylor Fritz (6-4, 7-6 (8-6)) to reach the final of the "Masters" series tournament in Shanghai, China.
Djokovic is ranked fourth in terms of the number of ATP tournament finals reached in the modern era (since 1990).
The top five players by the number of ATP tournament finals in the Open Era are:
1. Jimmy Connors (USA) — 164
2. Roger Federer (Switzerland) — 157
3. Ivan Lendl (Czech Republic) — 146
4. Novak Djokovic (Serbia) — 141
5. Rafael Nadal (Spain) — 131
Notably, the 37-year-old Djokovic is the only active tennis player on this list. In the Shanghai Masters final, Djokovic will face Jannik Sinner, who is currently ranked first in the world.
Should the Serbian triumph over the Italian, it would mark his 100th ATP tournament title.
