The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has dedicated a post to the news that Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2025.

«Welcome to the club, Maria! 36 titles (including five majors), former world No. 1, spent 408 weeks in the top-5, one of only 10 women in history to achieve a career Grand Slam in singles,» reads the association's message on social media.

Sharapova is recognized as Russia's most decorated female tennis player. The athlete announced her retirement from professional tennis in 2020.
