Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Women’s Champions League match.
Ahead of the final round of the group stage, both Arsenal and Bayern Munich have already secured their spots in the play-offs, but neither side wants to finish second in the group. It’s worth noting that in their previous encounter, Bayern Munich were dominant (5:2).
Arsenal (women)
In early October, Arsenal were plagued by defensive issues, which they have since managed to resolve. In their last 10 matches across all competitions, the London side have claimed nine victories, although opponents still managed to create chances. Last week, they comfortably defeated Vålerenga (3:1), but conceded in the dying minutes, allowing four shots on target over 90 minutes.
Bayern Munich (women)
In 20 matches this season, Bayern Munich have suffered just one defeat, and since early November, they have scored 22 goals in nine games. Against Juventus (4:0) in the fifth round, they secured a key advantage after the break, creating a significant disparity in chances (20–7 in shots and 8–1 in shots on target). Danish striker Pernille Harder stands out in the German squad, currently leading the Champions League scoring chart with six goals.
Arsenal (women) vs Bayern Munich (women) Prediction
Arsenal's attack, led by Alessia Russo, Caitlin Foord, and Mariona Caldentey (combined 8+5 in the Champions League), is formidable. However, they are unlikely to hold off Bayern's forwards. Expect both teams to score, as neither will sit back defensively—each aims to top the group.
