Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Hull City, who have slipped into the relegation zone and lost their manager, host Blackburn Rovers, who are eager to extend their winning streak to four matches.
Hull City
At one point, Hull City climbed as high as ninth, but that feels almost like a distant memory. They once had a run of three wins themselves. This season seems to be characterised by streaks. Currently, they are on a run of 10 matches without victory, accumulating only five points in that time. After Tim Walter’s dismissal, Acun Ilicali is actively searching for a new manager, having already interviewed six candidates. It wouldn't be surprising if they once again appoint an international manager.
Blackburn Rovers
Blackburn Rovers are on a roll. They've secured all nine points from their last three matches, including victories over playoff contenders Middlesbrough (1:0) and league leaders Leeds United (1:0). Their win over the Yorkshire side was well deserved. Both teams had a similar number of shots (11-13 in shots, 2-5 in shots on target), but Blackburn Rovers posed greater danger (2.17-1.28 in xG). Todd Cantwell was the standout player. The midfielder not only scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot but was also involved in the most threatening situations. It's no wonder Opta awarded him the most points (30.2), closely following Blackburn’s goalkeeper Aynsley Pears (31.2).
Hull City vs Blackburn Rovers Prediction
Hull City have the capability to score. Blackburn Rovers provide ample opportunities for their opponents, but they also make their attacking efforts count. The visitors are set to score, which should at least secure them a draw.
