Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Back in round eight, these teams were separated by a chasm of 11 positions. Now they're just one place apart. So, who's faltered and is in worse form?
Luton Town
Luton Town weren't the ones at the top. As they were 20th in early October, they now find themselves lingering in 21st, barely staying above the relegation zone. There's been no significant progress, yet Rob Edwards remains in charge. Such enduring gratitude for their first-ever promotion to the Premier League. Luton's squad value is among the top three in the league, on par with Sunderland (around 100 million euros), but while Sunderland are at the top, Luton Town are not. Occasionally, they play entertaining matches, but the most recent one ended in sadness as they were thrashed by Middlesbrough (1:5) away. At home, where they will play this time, their last victory was against Cardiff City (1:0).
Hull City
Hull City at one point climbed to ninth place, buoyed by three consecutive high-scoring wins with a combined score of 10:3 after a three-match goalless drought. This was followed by a seven-match winless streak, which still persists, featuring only three draws and a striking deficit of 4:11.
Luton Town vs Hull City Prediction
It's tough to immediately discern who's worse, and perhaps by now, expectations for good results have faded. Reflecting on their last five encounters, Luton Town have the edge with four wins and a draw, although those were before their promotion. An additional advantage for them is their home stadium, where they've lost only one of their last six matches.
