Copenhagen have struggled to satisfy their fans: they sit fourth in the Danish Superliga, but in the Champions League they have only one point after four rounds and a 4:12 goal difference – only Ajax have conceded more (14). However, at home, the hosts have been solid. They held Bayer 04 Leverkusen to a 2:2 draw and scored twice against Borussia Dortmund in a 2:4 defeat. That loss to the German side was only their second of the season in 13 matches in Denmark.
Kairat Almaty
Kairat Almaty are focused on the Champions League: in Kazakhstan they have just claimed a second consecutive title, finishing two points ahead of Astana, but in Europe they have only one point from four rounds. Even so, the Kazakh side have been competitive against top opponents. Against Sporting they held out for almost an entire half; goalkeeper Sherkhan Kalmurza saved a penalty and Edmilson Santos scored, but they still lost 1:4. Against Inter Milan they even managed to equalise and conceded only in the 67th minute (1:2). In a more evenly matched game against Pafos, they played out a goalless draw, dominating throughout (69% possession).
Copenhagen vs Kairat Almaty Prediction
Kairat Almaty have suffered heavy defeats only against Real Madrid and Sporting, and they should be capable of competing with Copenhagen, especially now that the Kazakhstan Premier League season is over. We expect the visitors to cover the positive handicap.
