Jessica Campbell made her NHL debut as a coach for the Seattle Kraken
For the first time in the National Hockey League (NHL), a female coach has made her debut. Jessica Campbell took on the role of assistant coach for the Seattle Kraken under head coach Dan Bylsma on October 9 during a match against the St. Louis Blues.
In the inaugural game, Seattle suffered a narrow defeat to the Blues, with the encounter concluding in a comeback victory for St. Louis, finalising at 3-2 (0-0, 3-2, 0-0).
The Kraken's next opponent will be the Minnesota Wild, with the match scheduled for October 13 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
In the last two seasons, Campbell has worked in the American Hockey League (AHL), assisting Bylsma with the Coachella Valley Firebirds. In 2022, she served as an assistant and skills coach for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League.
