Lewandowski to miss Poland's Nations League matches due to injury

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski will miss Poland's Nations League matches due to a back injury.

According to Diario Sport, the 36-year-old forward sustained the injury during the 13th round of La Liga against Real Sociedad (0-1), where he played the full 90 minutes. Lewandowski experienced severe back pain aboard the plane, and after an examination, Barcelona's medical team recommended a 10-day rest period.

Barcelona has informed the Polish Football Federation about the striker's injury, and both parties have decided to withdraw him from the national squad for the November fixtures. During the international break, Lewandowski will undergo treatment and continue gym work. His return to the pitch is expected in the 14th round of the Spanish league against Celta Vigo on 23 November, although Barca's head coach, Hans-Dieter Flick, may offer him additional rest.

This season, Robert Lewandowski has scored 19 goals and provided two assists in 17 matches for Barcelona across all competitions.

The Polish national team will face Portugal away on 15 November and host Scotland on 18 November. Michał Probierz's side sits third in Group A1 of the Nations League standings with four points.
