Upcoming La Liga matches to begin with a minute of silence

The 12th round of La Liga matches will commence with a minute of silence in honor of the victims of Hurricane Dana in Spain, as announced by the league's press office.

"La Liga reports that this weekend, all matches of La Liga and the Segunda Division will observe a minute of silence in memory of the victims of Hurricane Dana. We extend our condolences, as well as those of all Spanish football clubs, to the families and friends of those affected. Thus, professional football joins in expressing condolences and demonstrating solidarity with the families of the victims and those missing," the La Liga statement read.

Hurricane Dana struck several regions of Spain today, including Andalusia and the southern part of Catalonia. Heavy rains caused flooding in Valencia, resulting in at least 62 casualties.

Earlier, due to the aftermath of this natural disaster, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) postponed the first round Spanish Cup matches between Valencia and Parla Exuela, as well as Levante and Pontevedra. Both games were scheduled for today, October 30. It was also reported that the upcoming La Liga match between Real Madrid and Valencia might be rescheduled.

The 12th round of La Liga matches will take place from November 1 to 4.
