Malkin named first star of the game against Washington
The Russian forward for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Evgeni Malkin, was named the first star of the NHL game against the Washington Capitals. The Penguins secured a 4-2 victory.
The 38-year-old forward scored one goal and provided an assist. The second star of the game was Finnish goaltender Joel Blomqvist of the Penguins, who stopped 32 of 34 shots, achieving a 94.1% save percentage. The third star was Washington's Swedish defenseman Rasmus Sandin, who contributed one goal.
During the 2024/25 NHL season, Malkin has played 16 games for Pittsburgh, amassing 18 points with 5 goals and 13 assists.
