Ranieri to return to management as Roma head coach — Romano
Claudio Ranieri, who had retired from coaching, is reportedly close to being appointed as the head coach of Roma.
According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the 73-year-old is ready to come back to football for the opportunity to manage the Roman club. The board of the Giallorossi and the Italian coach have agreed to a contract lasting until the end of the season during a meeting in London. The involved parties are currently working on the final details of the deal.
This follows the recent sacking of Ivan Jurić, who was appointed as head coach on September 18, following the dismissal of Daniele De Rossi. Under the Croatian's leadership, Roma secured four wins, had three draws, and suffered five losses in 12 matches.
Claudio Ranieri retired last summer, with his last managerial position being at Cagliari. It's worth noting that the 73-year-old Italian managed Roma from 2009 to 2011 and again from March to June 2019.
