Valencia endure worst La Liga start in 67 years
Valencia have recorded their poorest start to a La Liga season in 67 years.
In the tenth round of Spain's top-flight competition, Rubén Baraja's side suffered a 3-2 home defeat against Las Palmas. For the hosts, Pepelu found the net via a penalty in the 14th minute, and César Tárrega scored in the fourth minute of added time. The visitors responded with goals from Álex Muñoz (43'), Fábio Silva (53'), and Alberto Moleiro (84'). The Bats were reduced to ten men from the 69th minute after Pepelu was shown a straight red card.
Following this defeat, Valencia has dropped to the bottom of the La Liga standings, sitting in 20th place with six points. This marks the team's worst performance since the 1957/58 season when they also had just five points after ten rounds.
In their next league fixture, Rubén Baraja's team will face Getafe away on 27 October.
