Burnley
The last 5 Premier League rounds have been the best part of the season for Burnley. They have taken 63.6% of the points. However, we should admit that they were too lucky in the games versus Fulham (2:0) and Brighton (1:1). In each of the games, Burnley created at least 1xg less than their opponents. Burnley have won only one home game, against Sheffield United (5:0), losing the other 8 matches with the aggregate score of 5:22.
Liverpool
Liverpool have lost points in the games versus Arsenal (1:1) and Manchester United (0:0), although the Reds seemed better. In the game versus the Red Devils Liverpool made 34 attempts on goal, without being able to score, which is a new Premier League record. They weren’t lucky enough in the match against the Gunners, with two shots in the woodwork and a controversial referee’s decision.
Burnley – Liverpool prediction
Liverpool have been playing like champions this season. Their leadership in points gained in the games where they were losing (19) speaks for itself. I doubt that Burnley, that have been getting results only because of luck, will be able to surprise the Reds. Even in their home games they are amongst the worst teams in xG (1) and xGA (1,5).
I believe that Liverpool will score at least twice.
