Elliot Slessor
Elliot Slessor had a weaker opponent than Martin O’Donnell in the previous round. I guess Slessor had quite a strong opponent in the qualification as this was Ali Carter. Quarter-final were easier. Although, Dominic Dale was pretty good, performing at home. This is the second time that Elliot has reached this stage in a big tournament. Bookmakers believe that Elliot is an underdog in this game, despite the fact that he’s been better than O’Donnell in the head-to-head matches.
Martin O’Donnell
He’s reached the semi-final by eliminating the current world champion Luca Brecel (5:3). Martin eliminated Marco Fu before that (4:2). This is why O’Donnell is a very dangerous opponent in this match. He’s way more experienced than Slessor.

Both players are ambitious. Their motivation is clear, this is going to be the first final of a big tournament in their career. O’Donnell will get to the top 64 best players if he advances to the final. I guess he will win as he’s more experienced and more motivated.
