I can’t understand why bookmakers believe that Gary Wilson is an obvious outsider. Yes, he has lost most of the head-to-head games against Selby, but there’s no conditions to think that Gary will definitely lose now. Wilson wasted many strengths in the Welsh Open. He was lucky to face not the strongest opponent in the final. Gary deserved the victory. He took some rest in March it should be an advantage for Wilson.

There’s no doubt that Selby is a skilful and experienced player. But, as any other sportsman, he has his ups and downs. Currently, perhaps, it’s not the best of his times. He lost a World Open game against Jackson Paige (2:5), which was a surprising thing to happen. Mark Selby does his best, despite some personal and sports problems.
