Morocco
The national team has the same squad for this Cup of Nations that they had in 2022 in Qatar. Sofiane Boufal, Noussair Mazraoui and Sofyan Amrabat may miss the first game. But it shouldn’t be a problem. Morocco should beat Tanzania even without them. Ziyech, En-Nesyri and Hakimi should demonstrate their level to help Morocco take three points.
Tanzania
Tanzania appeared at the Cup of Nations twice, never reaching the play-offs. The national team scored only three goals, conceding 4 during the qualification tournament. It was enough to become the runner-up in their group. Only one player of the Tanzanian national team represents a club, well-known in Europe, namely Dismas Miroshi from Shakhtar Donetsk. It’s almost impossible to take some points, playing against the 13th team of the FIFA ranking with such a squad.
Morocco – Tanzania prediction
Morocco surprised everybody during the last World Cup, reaching the semi-finals and beating Belgium (2:0), Spain (0:0 on penalties), and Portugal (1:0). Morocco haven’t won the Africa Cup of Nations for almost a half a century. The first game gives them a chance to have some kind of training against a pretty weak team.
I believe that Morocco will start with a confident win in this match.
