Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Queens Park Rangers’ latest defeat may have been influenced by the absence of head coach Martí Cifuentes, who was unwell and missed their match against Millwall (1:2). Now back on the touchline, he is urging his players to channel their frustration and respond with intensity against Blackburn Rovers.
Queens Park Rangers
Martí Cifuentes expects a win, which is understandable given that Queens Park Rangers have lost their last two matches. The Spaniard admitted that defensive issues cost them against Millwall but doesn’t see major cause for concern. After all, they responded quickly to conceding in the first minute, equalising by the third, and ended the match with nearly twice as many shots as their opponents (13-7).
Blackburn Rovers
Blackburn Rovers are not an easy opponent, currently sitting fifth in the table. However, they have been significantly weaker away from home, failing to win any of their last four away matches (one draw, three defeats). More concerning is their lack of attacking firepower on the road—they have failed to score more than once in any of their last seven away games. While they don’t concede much, their struggles in front of goal make it difficult to trust them as favourites, especially against Queens Park Rangers, who often score two or more at home.
Queens Park Rangers vs Blackburn Rovers Prediction
If Queens Park Rangers score at least once, it should be enough to secure at least a draw against a Blackburn side that have failed to score in three of its last five games, even at home. With Martí Cifuentes back and demanding a reaction, expect a spirited performance from the London side.
