Liverpool secure comeback victory at Brentford
Liverpool overturned an early deficit to secure a 2-1 Premier League victory against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday. The hosts opened the scoring before Yehor Yarmoliuk was sent off before half-time, leaving Brentford with ten men before another late red card reduced them to nine.
Alexander Isak scored Liverpool's equaliser in the second half from a Bradley Barcola assist to reach five league goals for the campaign. Florian Wirtz later created nine chances during the encounter, including a decisive through-ball to set up Victor Munoz for the winning goal.
The defeat marked 105 points dropped from winning positions by Brentford since their promotion in 2021, including 11 points surrendered from ahead this season. Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola praised Barcola's attacking involvement despite the forward striking the woodwork during the second half.
- Bradley Barcola scored his first Champions League hat-trick for Liverpool in their 6-3 away victory over LASK on 14 October 2026, finishing with either foot before adding a tap-in.
- Liverpool had lost their preceding Premier League match 3-0 at home to Manchester City before returning to domestic action against Brentford.
