Fourcade Nominated for Head of the Organizing Committee for the 2030 Olympics

Five-time Olympic biathlon champion Martin Fourcade has officially put forward his candidacy for the position of head of the organizing committee for the 2030 Winter Olympic Games.

"I am committed to collective ambitions, not personal ones. I focused on personal goals when I was winning medals. Now, I stand at a crossroads between these paths.

We have a project that brings together many stakeholders, and I feel their support," L’Equipe quotes the athlete.

The 2030 Winter Games will take place from February 8 to February 24 in the French Alps, with the closing ceremony scheduled to be held in Nice.

Fourcade announced his retirement in March 2020. Since 2022, he has served as a representative of the athletes' commission in the International Olympic Committee.
