WADA Lost Doping Test Data Ahead of the 2024 Olympics

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has lost information on open cases and test results ahead of the Paris Olympics, reports the New York Times, citing anonymous sources.

It is noted that due to this issue, athletes accused of doping may have participated in the Games.

At a meeting in May, WADA leadership was informed about a database malfunction that resulted in data being damaged, missing, or incorrect for at least two thousand cases. This made it difficult to track more than 900 active anti-doping rule violations.
