Nacho: "I'm happy for Rodri, but I would have given the Ballon d'Or to Vinícius"

Former Real Madrid and Spain defender Nacho Fernández shared his thoughts on the 2024 Ballon d'Or results.

"If I was on the plane, honestly I would have gone. But the problem is that the path had been made for Vinicius to win. It can't have been easy to manage that at the last minute you're not going to win it, [but] you have to be there. I congratulated Rodri, I'm very happy for him, he's a very good guy too. But I would have given it to Vinicius without any doubt, he's number one right now," Nacho told Forbes.

The 2024 Ballon d'Or was awarded to Manchester City midfielder Rodri. Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior finished second in the voting, with his teammate Jude Bellingham in third.
