Official: Ruben Amorim has been appointed as the head coach of Manchester United

Ruben Amorim has been appointed as the new head coach of Manchester United, according to the club's press office.

The 39-year-old Portuguese manager has signed a contract lasting until the summer of 2027, with the option to extend for an additional year. Amorim is set to arrive in Manchester on 11 November.

On 28 October, Manchester United announced the dismissal of Erik ten Hag from the position of head coach. The team has secured 11 points from nine matches in the English Premier League (EPL) and is currently placed 14th in the league standings.

Ruben Amorim had been at the helm of Sporting Lisbon since 2020. Under his leadership, the club has clinched the Portuguese league title twice and has won two Portuguese League Cups.
