Xavi once invited a shaman into Barcelona's locker room during his tenure as head coach, according to reports from ABC and journalist Salvador Sostres.
The Spanish manager sought to "rid" Camp Nou of evil spirits and negative energy. Xavi reportedly brought in the shaman when he believed the stadium was empty. Security personnel informed Barcelona President Joan Laporta about Xavi's rituals. However, despite considering the methods "utter nonsense," Laporta chose not to damage his relationship with Xavi.
Xavi led Barcelona from November 2021 to May 2024, during which time the team won both the La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup.
