Design and Theme
🖼️ Graphics
Gonzo’s Quest Megaways looks like a refreshed stone hall with a dense grid, constantly changing the number of ways to win. The background features masks, vines, and embossed masonry, while leaves float slowly across and beyond the grid — a small touch, but it makes the space feel alive. Animation highlights what matters — winning symbols glow slightly, then crumble into coins, clearing space for new ones. Behind the reels is a glowing portal and temple stairs, which reveal themselves only on a winning combo.
Gonzo stands on the left, and he’s not just decoration. Sometimes he runs up to a winning combo, grabs a coin, and runs off. If you land a big win, he takes off his helmet, full of gold, and celebrates wildly. All of this is balanced — it enlivens the slot without being distracting.
🎶 Sound
The background soundtrack is like a ritual rhythm with drums — not loud, but it creates a sense of something ancient. Win sounds are minimal, more like system notifications. Gonzo occasionally comments with short voice lines.

Wins are formed by cascades: winning combinations disappear, and new symbols fall into place — until no more wins appear. Payouts depend on consecutive reels with matching symbols — duplicates on one reel increase the number of ways but not the length of the combo. With each cascade, the multiplier rises: starting at x1, then x2, x3, up to a maximum of x5.

Special Symbols
- Wild (Golden Circle with Question Mark). Substitutes all regular symbols, including scatters. A maximum of two wilds may appear per spin: one on the first three reels, and another on the last three. The key difference: wilds do not disappear even when part of a winning combo — unlike all other symbols.
- Scatter (Golden Free Fall Mask). Triggers the bonus game, but only if it lands in a continuous chain from left to right, like regular symbols. This is a major difference: scatters are not counted “anywhere on the reels”, but strictly along paths. That means a single lucky wild between two scatters can change everything — and trigger free spins.
Bonus Game
The free spins bonus, or Free Fall, is triggered by 3 scatters in a row — or 2 scatters plus a wild in the chain. Symbols must connect left to right without gaps, like a normal win. Three such symbols award 9 spins, and each additional scatter gives +3.
In the bonus, multipliers are boosted: x3, x6, x9, and x15. Retriggers are possible the same way: another Free Fall chain restarts the feature.
Additionally, at any time in the base game or free spins, the Earthquake feature may trigger — the reels shake, and low-value symbols disappear, replaced only by high-paying ones.
RTP, Volatility, Max Win
Gonzo’s Quest Megaways has a fixed RTP of 95.77%, high volatility, and a maximum win capped at x21,037 the bet.
Our Verdict
The first spins keep you tense: sometimes wins hit every fourth spin, other times you get ten dead spins in a row. But once the slot “wakes up”, cascades leading to x5 multipliers start dropping — and the potential becomes clear. Scatters don’t seem rare, but they almost always miss — one or two per spin. One moment was especially painful: two scatters and a wild appeared, but not in sequence — so no trigger.
The bonus triggered after about 60 spins — a chain formed, awarding 9 free spins. By the third cascade, the multiplier had jumped to x15, and on that backdrop a top symbol combo landed. That alone paid x94, with small extras on top. In total — about x100 for the feature. Not only did it cover losses, it left a solid profit. After that, a base game cascade with an x5 multiplier landed — another x200 win, also solid.
The Earthquake feature never showed up during testing — perhaps very rare. Otherwise, the slot feels rewarding. Not quickly, not often, but when it clicks — it pays back the wait with interest.
If you want something similar but with a different flavor — try Le Viking by Hacksaw, which also uses cascades but adds Hold & Win in the bonus. Or check out The Dog House Megaways by Pragmatic Play, where you choose your free spin format with sticky wilds.
