Gator Hunters: Design and Theme
🖼️ Graphics
The game field is suspended on a rusty wire mesh, with a swampy landscape stretching behind it, featuring mist, dry trees, and Danger signs. The symbols are all associated with hunting: hiking boots, traps, flasks, binoculars, and crocodiles that hatched from eggs.
The old bearded hunter and his more energetic companions are framed in large circles, so that on big clusters, the screen turns into a display of hunting portraits.
In the bonus rounds, the palette noticeably lightens, with the background shifting to blue and pink hues, enhancing the feeling that the mesh might soon snap under the weight of the crosshairs and bonus signs.
🎶 Sound
The sound is built around a lively, slightly caricatured hunting theme: a dynamic melody with a touch of country, revolver clicks, the clinking of chains, and the metallic clanging of traps on each cascade. Winning clusters are marked by short accents, and as the multiplier increases, the music thickens, adding extra rhythm to highlight the tension of the series.
During the free spins, the track becomes louder and a bit denser, which ties the rising level of upgrades to what's happening on-screen without turning the sound into constant noise.

Special Symbols
To better understand how to play Gator Hunters, it’s important to focus on the key special symbols that come into play after unsuccessful spins, clearing the board and raising the win multiplier.
- Eater / Super Eater (Crocodile in Glasses): activates only when there are no winning clusters on the board. The Normal Eater removes a random number of symbols and all their copies from the field, clearing space for new drops, and then turns into a Wild. The Super Eater does the same but adds a multiplier to the Wild, which is applied to any wins in which it participates.
- Wild (Alligator Skull on a Sign): substitutes any regular symbols. A Wild created by the Super Eater carries a multiplier of x2, x3, or x10; if there are several of these Wilds in a cluster, their values are added together before being applied to the win.
- Scatter (Yellow Wanted Bonus Sign): does not have its own payout but triggers the free spins and stronger bonus versions.
- Revolver (Revolver Drum with Coloured Bullets): activates when there are no wins or Eaters on the board. When triggered, the drum spins and picks a position; if a bullet lands, its value is added to the overall win multiplier, which is then applied to the total win of the spin. Revolvers can appear up to six times simultaneously, with each one having its own type and behaviour.
- Normal / Super / Super Fire Revolver (three revolver variants): Normal spins once and either gives a multiplier or an empty space. Super, when landing on a bullet, triggers an additional spin of the same revolver. Super Fire, if any bullet lands, forces all revolvers with loaded cells to spin again, increasing the overall multiplier.
- Multiplier Bullets (Coloured Bullets): Purple bullets carry values from x2 to x8, blue ones offer x10, x15, or x20, orange ones — x30, x50, or x75, and red ones — from x100 to x500. White bullets are the rarest, offering multipliers of x1000 and x2000. All values are combined into one overall win multiplier.
- Extra Spin (Yellow Circle with Arrows): a paid option to take another spin after the bonus session ends. The extra spin carries over the current total multiplier and any revolvers with remaining bullets, with its cost calculated based on these parameters and shown as a multiple of the bet.
Bonus Game
Gator Hunters features several levels of free spins that build up the total multiplier and gradually make the revolvers the primary threat to your balance.
- Swamp Spins: 3 Scatters trigger 10 free spins. The total multiplier accumulated in the base game is transferred into the bonus and retained until the end of the round. During Swamp Spins, each new Revolver continues to add multipliers to the total scale. When 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 Scatters land during the free spins, the player receives 3, 5, 7, 10, or 15 extra spins, respectively. At the start of the round, one of four upgrades is chosen randomly — an extra x2 bullet, an extra x10 bullet, turning all Eaters into Super Eaters, or replacing regular Revolvers with Super Revolvers.
- Frenzy Spins: 4 Scatters trigger 12 Frenzy Spins. The mechanics are the same as in Swamp Spins, but instead of one upgrade, two different upgrades are issued, greatly increasing the density of multipliers and the effect of the Eaters.
- Gator Spins: 5 Scatters trigger 15 Gator Spins. In this mode, three random upgrades activate simultaneously, often filling the board with Super Eaters and enhanced Revolvers, allowing for long multiplier streaks.
- Apex Predator Spins: 6 Scatters open 18 Apex Predator Spins. All four upgrades are active here, and the Super Revolvers are replaced with the Super Fire Revolvers, where all Revolvers become Super Fire and spin again whenever a bullet lands.
RTP, Volatility, Max Win
RTP — 96.11%. Volatility is extreme. The maximum win is capped at x25,000 of the bet.
Our Verdict
Gator Hunters is an aggressive slot with a tight connection of cascades, Eaters, and Revolvers, where the bulk of the potential lies in the bonus rounds, especially in the Apex Predator Spins. The base game can drag on without major wins, but occasional entries with the Super Fire Revolver and large bullets turn the grid into a lottery for a fearsome multiplier.
The slot is suited for those comfortable with rare but big wins. If you're looking for a lighter mood and familiar mechanics, check out The Dog House Megaways from Pragmatic Play with two wild variations — moving and sticky ones in the bonus.
For those who prefer duels for multipliers and mode selection, switch to Duel at Dawn from Nolimit City, where two types of bonuses are tied to expanding symbols and gunfights for large multipliers.
