Design and Theme
🖼️ Graphics
In Razor Returns, the grid is submerged into the murky depths of the ocean, but the focus is not on the beauty of underwater scenery — it’s on aggression. The symbols are colourful sharks with predatory grins, an old diving suit, pipes, anchors and compasses, as if salvaged from the seabed. Visually, the slot leans towards a comic-book style — rough and deliberately angular.
🎶 Sound
The background track consists of deep electronic beats with metallic echoes, creating a sense of underwater tension. When the hidden symbols begin to reveal themselves, mechanical clicks and scraping noises play — as if you’re in a submarine rather than the ocean. The atmosphere is more tense than relaxing.

Special Symbols
- Wild (shark with a metal jaw): Substitutes all paying symbols except Hidden Symbols, the Scatter, and Prize Symbols. Pays on its own: 3 Wilds = x1, 4 Wilds = x4, 5 Wilds = x12.5.
- Scatter (torpedo): Triggers Free Spins with starting multipliers of x1 / x5 / x25.
- Hidden Symbols (green seaweed): Drop in stacks of 5 positions and activate the Nudge & Reveal feature, revealing regular symbols, Wilds, or Prize Symbols.
- Golden Shark: Appears only inside Hidden Symbols and triggers the Razor Reveal feature.
- Prize Symbols (coins with numbers): Award fixed multipliers from x1 to x5000.
- Collector (token with the letter C): Collects all Prize Symbols on the reels and turns into a Prize Symbol with their total.
- Multiplier (token): Increases all Prize Symbols and Collectors on the screen by x2, x3, x5 or x10, then disappears.
- Converter (token with a shark skull): Selects one type of regular symbol and turns all instances into Golden Sharks to extend Razor Reveal.
- Nudge Up (mine): During Free Spins, it nudges the stack of Hidden Symbols up by one position.
Bonus Game
Razor Returns features two types of bonuses:
- Free Spins: trigger when 3, 4 or 5 scatter torpedoes land. Award a starting global multiplier of x1, x5 or x25. Before the round begins, you can gamble on the wheel to upgrade the multiplier up to x100 — or lose the bonus entirely. During the free spins, reels 2 and 4 are fully stacked with Hidden Symbols, which shift down one position each spin. After every shift, the global multiplier increases by +1. The round continues as long as any stacks remain on the reels; the Nudge Up symbol can push a stack up and extend the round.
- Razor Reveal (coin mode): activates when Hidden Symbols reveal Golden Sharks. Each such position becomes a “spinning” prize cell: a bet multiplier (x1–x5000), a Collector, a Converter, a Multiplier, or a Nudge Up. The feature continues as long as any Golden Shark positions remain; prize symbols can enhance one another or open new cells.
RTP, Volatility, Max Win
The RTP is 96.55%. Volatility is high. The maximum win is capped at x100,000 of the stake.
Our Verdict
Razor Returns knows how to keep the tension high. The base game is mostly quiet with small hits, but when Razor Reveal kicks in, the screen turns into chaos with collectors, multipliers, and converters. The free spins are long thanks to the stacks of hidden symbols and a multiplier that increases without limits. But keep in mind: the bonus may not appear for hundreds of spins, and Razor Reveal often drops “empty” symbols.
This slot will suit those who enjoy risk and unpredictability: it’s either silence or an explosion. If you want a similar mechanic in a different setting, try Bison Battle by Push Gaming — there, instead of the ocean depths, you get a forest, and the bonuses revolve around free spins and respins with coins.
If you want to see where this entire concept began, it makes sense to revisit Razor Shark — the original slot built around the first version of the Mystery Stack mechanic.
