The Shadow Order: Design and Theme
🖼️ Graphics
On the screen is a twilight garden near a mansion, with the order’s courier standing to the right holding a letter. In the centre — a square display of matte tiles and metallic shine, and in the corner, a seal slowly rotates with “hot” zones. When orbs land, the grid flashes and seems to shift its mood; in free spins, the grid becomes denser with wilds and looks like a board where someone has suddenly launched an attack. There is plenty of artwork, yet nothing feels noisy or distracting from the gameplay.
🎶 Sound
A mysterious melody plays in the background, becoming livelier during cascade chains. Orb actions add clean, short accents, and winning clusters click like chess moves. The sound is crisp and tidy, never overwhelming or tiring. Perfect for long sessions — the music keeps the rhythm without distracting from the maths.

Special Symbols
- Wild “Order Medal” (gold emblem): substitutes for any regular symbols and pays like a top symbol (x5 for 3, x50 for 4, x300 for 5).
- Hotspot — three fixed cells on the grid. An active orb moves downwards and to the right; landing on a Hotspot locks it as a wild. The orb’s effect triggers only after all cascades have finished.
- Orb of Destruction — blue orb: acts as a wild, moves down and right, and when it reaches a Hotspot later, it destroys low-paying symbols.
- Orb of Creation — green orb: acts as a wild and, when activated, adds 3–6 new wilds to random positions on the grid.
- Orb of Preservation — purple orb: acts as a wild and, once activated, “holds” the highest-value symbol on the grid, removing all others until no more matching symbols drop.
- Ring (golden signet ring): fills the progression meter, unlocking new characters with additional effects. It does not pay on its own.
Bonus Game
Character Features. At the start of the game, Character 1 is active. Three more unlock by collecting rings. At the end of a game round, when no wins remain, one of the unlocked effects may trigger at random:
- Character 1 charges the blue orb and clears the top row so the orb can drop onto the grid.
- Character 2 transforms some low symbols into the highest-value symbol currently visible.
- Character 3 adds one wild to each column.
- Character 4 removes low and medium symbols and triggers a cascade with only high symbols.
Free Games. Within a single game round, collect all three orbs in the bottom-right Collection Tile to start free spins. In the bonus, orbs are always charged and sticky — they remain in place between spins.
Each time an orb in the bonus reaches the Collection Tile, the global win multiplier increases and remains active for the rest of the round. It applies to every subsequent free-spin win and grows with each new Collection Tile entry.
If all three orbs reach the tile during the feature, you receive +2 free spins, and the spheres return to the top fully charged.
RTP, Volatility, Max Win
Official stats for The Shadow Order: RTP — 96.51%. Volatility is medium-high, with the dispersion felt in orb hunting and the progressive multiplier in the bonus. The stated maximum win is up to x25,471 of the stake.
Our Verdict
The Shadow Order isn’t “just another cluster slot” — it’s a micro-quest on every spin. You chase orbs around the grid, aim for Hotspots, and hope a character effect finishes a dead round. Even in the demo, it’s clear how the behaviour of the three spheres shifts the pace of a session, and the bonus with sticky orbs can suddenly deliver a huge hit. This slot isn’t about instant flashes — it sometimes needs patience. If you like holding your ground and assembling a board state, it will suit you. If you prefer something simpler with no progression, skip it.
What else to try:
- Lucky Ducky X-mas — light, cheerful, and powered by the MergeUP mechanic; great for players wanting something fresh.
- Legendary Excalibur — a Red Tiger slot with an expanding sword wild on the centre reel and a respin; perfect for fans of straightforward mechanics and frequent extra spins.
