Benfica faces potential suspension from all tournaments due to corruption allegations

The Portuguese prosecution is seeking to suspend Benfica from the Portuguese league and other tournaments for a period ranging from six months to three years.

According to A Bola, the Lisbon club is facing accusations of corruption and tax fraud. It is also reported that the prosecution is calling for the suspension of Benfica's president, Luís Filipe Vieira, and legal advisor Paulo Gonçalves from football activities.

Currently, Benfica sits third in the Primeira Liga standings, having accumulated 16 points after seven matches this season.
