Guardiola: "I'm confident that City has contingency plans for when Pep leaves"

Manchester City's head coach, Pep Guardiola, has discussed his future at the English club.

"The club has never asked me [when they want to know the decision]. I'm absolutely confident they have alternatives for when Pep leaves. Sooner or later, that's going to happen, and they need to be prepared. It will not come as a surprise.

I want to be convinced it's better for the club. I'm not going to delay any decisions, thinking it could pose a problem for the club. They are aware of the challenges that could come up for me.

If the club asks for my opinion [on the next coach], I will give it. But it's not my decision. The management should make the decision", Guardiola told BBC.

The Spanish manager has been at the helm of Manchester City since 2016.
