The management of the Super League is planning to launch the tournament in September 2025

The Super League management has plans to launch the tournament in September 2025, according to Spanish newspaper AS, citing their internal sources.

Previously, Bernd Reichart, the CEO of the Super League subsidiary company A22, stated to Kicker that the organisation is taking all necessary steps to kick-start the competition. According to Reichart, UEFA's new Champions League format has not lived up to expectations.

On the 18th of April 2021, 12 European clubs announced the launch of the Super League. However, the teams later abandoned this idea.

On the 21st of December last year, the EU court ruled FIFA and UEFA’s policy regarding the Super League as illegal. The tournament can officially be established in accordance with European law.
