Tuchel has responded to fans who are unhappy with his appointment to the England national team

German coach Thomas Tuchel has responded to fans who are unhappy with his appointment as the head coach of the England national team.

"I’m sorry that I have a German passport. All these fans have felt my passion for the Premier League and for England. I hope I can show them that I’m proud of this appointment. I will do everything to show respect for this role and the country," Tuchel said, as quoted by journalist Florian Plettenberg on social media.

The 51-year-old coach will officially take charge of the England team in 2025, with his contract running until July 2026. Tuchel has previously managed Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich.
