Gold: design and theme
🖼️ Graphics
Gold is like a jewellery shop window from the 1990s: gleaming gold, frames with light bulbs and a satin purple background that looks as if it is lit by studio lights. The symbols are not elaborate but straightforward: bullion bars, rings, cars, credit cards – everything that, in the eyes of ordinary people, stands for wealth. In the free spins, the presentation stays the same, but the visual contrast comes from golden flashes of wins and doubled wilds, which are highlighted more brightly than usual. The atmosphere is as simple as it gets: shine, wealth, a touch of kitsch.
🎶 Sound
The soundtrack also comes from the past: a calm, slightly old-fashioned piano melody that creates a sense of unhurried aristocracy. It is the kind of music that sounds as if it is playing in the lobby of an expensive hotel. The spin sounds are soft and short, and wins are marked by a resonant but unobtrusive “ding”. During free spins, the pitch of the track rises slightly, and then a vocal track starts in the style of 1990s pop music.

Special symbols
To understand how to play Gold, it is important to grasp that the special symbols play a key role here. They are the ones that change the size of the win, not the grid itself.
- Wild (gold suitcase). Substitutes for any regular symbols except the scatter. Any line win with a wild is doubled. On its own, it can also form a combination and award payouts (x0.5 for 2 symbols, x10 for 3, x100 for 4 and x500 for 5 in a line).
- Scatter (gold disc BIG SCATTER). Pays in any position and does not depend on paylines. Awards x2, x5, x20 or x100 of the total stake for 2, 3, 4 or 5 symbols. With 3 or more, it triggers free spins.
Bonus game
In Gold, the free-spin mode is as old-school as it gets, but it works:
- Trigger – 3 or more scatters.
- Number of spins – a fixed 15 free spins.
- All wins in the bonus are tripled, except for a combination of 5 wilds.
- The stake is fixed at the level of the spin that activated the bonus.
- A retrigger is possible – another 15 free spins for 3+ scatters.
- The maximum from the bonus round is 180 free spins.
RTP, volatility, maximum win
Gold has a stated RTP of 95.025%. The volatility feels medium-high. The maximum advertised win is x10,000 of the stake.
Our verdict
Gold is not about innovation but about pleasant nostalgia: a scattering of gold symbols, simple mechanics, an interface that can be read at a glance. We would say its strong point is honest linear maths without surprises. It will not burn through the balance as aggressively as modern super-volatile slots, but you should not expect fireworks from it either. In the free spins there is, of course, a chance of a sharp jump thanks to the x3 applied to all payouts, but this is more of a rare gift than the norm.
The slot may appeal to those who like moderate variance and a traditional structure. Those looking for explosive bonuses and crazy multipliers are better off turning to modern BTG releases.
If you want a similar feel but with livelier mechanics, try Piggy Riches 2 Megaways – it is more generous with cascading wins and offers acceleration through the Megaways. And if you are more interested in high-risk, high-reward slots, Money Train 4 is a strong option, with extreme volatility, persistent feature symbols and huge win potential that can swing the balance on a single bonus round.
