Donut Division: Design and Theme
🖼️ Graphics
Donut Division looks like a cartoon series about clumsy cops: the backgrounds resemble an alley lined with diners, and the screen is filled with moustached detectives in sunglasses. The symbols combine police props (siren, radio, cone, coffee) with more ironic elements, such as doughnuts. Everything is drawn deliberately caricature-style, with no hint of seriousness — as if you’re watching a Saturday morning cartoon.
🎶 Sound
The music sticks to the vibe of 1970s police shows: light, with a dose of self-irony. In the base game, it works mostly as background, but in the bonuses, it speeds up and adds energy. The sound effects — doughnut chomps, gun clicks and sirens — reinforce the atmosphere of an absurd police sitcom.

Special Symbols
- Gooey Gun. A gun that never appears on the first reel. When it lands, it “shoots” wilds to the left along the row until the edge, then turns into a wild itself. It may carry a multiplier from x1 to x100, and all created wilds inherit that multiplier. In the base game, guns and scatters never land at the same time.
- Gooey Wild. Wilds created by the Gooey Gun. They may carry multipliers. If a win connects lines containing multiple guns/wilds, their multipliers are added together and applied to the payout. Has its own payout: a line of six wilds pays x5 of the stake.
- Scatter. Triggers the bonus when 3 or 4 symbols land: the player chooses between Warehouse/Stakeout or their “super” versions. In Warehouse and Super Warehouse, scatters do not appear at all. In Stakeout and Super Stakeout, they can only land to the right of a gun on the row — never to the left.
Bonus Game
In Donut Division, the bonus is triggered by scatters and always offers a choice of the mode.
- Warehouse Spins (3 scatters). The grid contains no regular symbols — only empty cells and special symbols. The player has 3 lives, which are lost when both torches go out. Each spin can show up to 2 torches — they light up cells and reveal special symbols. Possible symbols:
- Adding Multiplier (+x1…x100 to the Total Multiplier),
- Multiplying Multiplier (x2…x10 to the Total Multiplier),
- Battery (temporarily expands the torch light to 3x3),
- Light-Switch (lights the entire screen and collects everything),
- Dead (extinguishes a torch; if both go out, you lose a life).
- After any special symbol, the torch “jumps” to a new cell without using up a spin/life. At the end, the payout equals the stake multiplied by the Total Multiplier.
- Super Warehouse Spins (4 scatters). Works the same as the regular Warehouse. The key difference: all Adding Multiplier values are at least x5.
- Stakeout Spins (3 scatters). Played on the standard 6x5 grid with 19 paylines. Guns land more frequently, and their multipliers can be larger. A retrigger is possible: +2 spins for 2 scatters, +4 spins for 3 scatters. Limitation: scatters may only land to the right of a gun on the row.
- Super Stakeout Spins (4 scatters). Works like Stakeout, but with an added guarantee: after the first gun appears on a row, every subsequent spin on that row will produce another gun.
RTP, Volatility, Max Win
Donut Division has a base RTP of 96.30%. Volatility is listed as medium (3 out of 5), which is rare for Hacksaw: the slot isn’t as “hellish” in terms of variance, though long dry spells still occur. The maximum win is capped at x12,500 of the stake. Once it’s reached, the round ends instantly, and if it happens during a bonus game, all remaining spins are voided.
Our Verdict
Donut Division immediately feels dual in nature: on one hand, the cartoon cops and doughnuts make the game light and humorous; on the other, the bonuses can swing the balance sharply. Warehouse feels like a separate mini-game with torches and lives, where you can build a very large multiplier. Stakeout is closer to classic play: reels, wilds and the hope for a gun with x100. Sometimes the slot feeds you stretches of dead spins, sometimes it fires unexpectedly — that’s exactly how medium volatility tends to feel.
Who will enjoy it: players who like choosing bonus modes and unusual mechanics. Who probably won’t: those looking for quick results or a simple no-frills grid.
If the sight of doughnuts has left you craving more sweets, try Sugar Rush. And if you’re drawn to neon colours and cartoonish graphics with a hint of bleakness, take a look at Outsourced.
