17-year-old US snowboarder banned for three years for anti-doping violation

17-year-old US snowboarder Michael Smith has been disqualified for three years for violating anti-doping rules, the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) website reports.

Traces of anabolic steroids were found in two of the athlete's doping samples. The tests were taken out of competition in the spring.

Michael Smith's disqualification period began on June 4, 2024. According to USADA, the investigation did not reveal any influence of the snowboarder's environment on his use of prohibited substances.
