Adesanya Declines Rematch with Du Plessis

New Zealand MMA fighter Israel Adesanya has declared that he does not wish to fight UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis again.

"I have no desire for a rematch with Dricus. He has shown me great respect. We supported each other, went through a lot together, and accomplished this side by side. I will reach out to him when I’m in South Africa. But I said, ‘If we have to fight again, I’ll kill you.’ He stated he would do the same. There is respect between us," Adesanya said in an interview with the UFC's YouTube channel.

On the night of August 17-18, UFC 305 took place in Perth, Australia, where du Plessis defeated Adesanya in the main event, successfully defending his middleweight title.
