Adesanya on his defeat to du Plessis: "Africa triumphed today, despite everything."

New Zealand fighter Israel Adesanya congratulated South African Drikus du Plessis on his victory in the title fight at UFC 305. 

«I am glad to have fought again. Congratulations to Drikus du Plessis. Thank you for your honest words and the truth. Despite everything, Africa triumphed today! Drikus, you carry the torch... ignite the fire and inspire!» Adesanya wrote on social media. 

In the fourth round, du Plessis won via a submission, defending his UFC middleweight championship title. 

The South African has now secured his eighth consecutive victory in the UFC. In total, du Plessis boasts a record of 24 professional fights, with 22 wins and two losses. Adesanya, on the other hand, has competed in 28 bouts in the octagon, winning 24 and losing four.
