Alcaraz: “I Wanted to Take Away Something Positive from My Losses in the USA”

The world’s second-ranked tennis player, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz, has shared his mindset ahead of the Davis Cup group stage.

“I wanted to take away something positive from my losses in the USA—it was very challenging, but I managed to do it.

Here, I’m trying not to repeat the mistakes related to my playing level and psychology. I aim to be more mature and progress gradually. I arrived at the tournament charged and motivated. I will do my best to be a worthy No. 1 for the Spanish team and win as many matches as possible,” Alcaraz said, as reported by the Davis Cup press service.

The Spaniard exited in the second round of both the Cincinnati tournament and the US Open.

On Wednesday, Spain defeated the Czech Republic 3-0 in the Davis Cup.
