American UFC Champion Declares Makhachev the Best Active Fighter in the World

UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has stated that he considers Russian fighter Islam Makhachev to be the best active fighter in the world today.

«The best fighter in the world right now? Makhachev. Jones is also one of the best. However, if we’re talking about the best fighter 'right now,' we need to look at the last 4-5 years. Jon seems to have fought only once during that period. Jon is undoubtedly one of the greatest in history, but currently, among the most active fighters, Islam is the best,» O’Malley said in an interview with Helen Yee Sports.

The 32-year-old Makhachev boasts an impressive record of 26 wins and just one loss. The Russian is the UFC lightweight champion and has successfully defended his title three times.
