Busquets on Inter Miami's exit from the Leagues Cup: "With Messi, it would have been different"

Inter Miami midfielder Sergio Busquets believes that the absence of forward Lionel Messi affected the team's exit from the Leagues Cup.

«We know the difference Leo makes, and I wish he was with us. But in football, there are injuries and setbacks. His presence is very important for us, and it was disappointing not to take advantage of that because I am sure things would have been different, and we would have had many more chances.

We had a lot of counter-attacks, but we lacked the final pass and the finishing touch. It is frustrating; we wanted to continue in the tournament and fought until the end», Busquets told Goal.

The American club was eliminated in the Round of 16 of the Leagues Cup, losing to Columbus Crew with a score of 3-2. Messi was unable to participate in the match due to an injury sustained in the Copa America final.
