Carsley comments on potential permanent role as England manager
Interim England manager Lee Carsley has spoken about the possibility of taking on the role permanently.
"As you can imagine it is a test. Not only for myself, but for the rest of the staff. We have shown to ourselves that we can do it and we can implement what we are trying to do. We can put ideas in place and the players have responded really well to what we have asked.
Lee Carsley was appointed as the interim head coach of the England national team on August 9, shortly after Gareth Southgate's resignation. Under the leadership of the 50-year-old, England secured two victories in Group B2 of the Nations League, defeating Ireland (2-0) and Finland (2-0).
