Chelsea midfielder Fernández loses driving licence

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández has been disqualified from driving and fined £3,020 for two traffic violations.

According to Sky News, Llanelli Magistrates' Court penalised the London club's midfielder for offences recorded last winter. On December 27, 2023, the Argentine's Porsche Cayenne was caught speeding in Swansea, and on January 24, 2024, it ran a red light in Llanelli.

It was not proven that Fernández was behind the wheel on either occasion. The midfielder was found guilty of failing to identify the driver. According to the law, the vehicle owner must disclose who was driving at a specific time if requested by the police.

The footballer did not attend the court hearing.

Enzo Fernández has been with Chelsea since January 2023. This season, the 23-year-old midfielder has provided one assist in five matches for the Blues.

The Argentine has a contract with the London club until the summer of 2032.
