Chelsea omit Palmer from Conference League squad

Chelsea have excluded midfielder Cole Palmer from their squad for the 2024/25 Conference League, as announced by the club's press office.

The decision to leave out the 22-year-old from European competitions is aimed at managing his workload this season. The Blues are keen to reduce Palmer's playing time.

Defender Wesley Fofana and midfielder Romeo Lavia are also absent from Chelsea’s Conference League roster. The London club will have the opportunity to add these players to the squad before the knockout stage commences in February 2025.

In the group stage of the 2024/25 Conference League, Chelsea are set to face Belgium's Gent, Greece's Panathinaikos, Armenia's Noah, Germany's Heidenheim, Kazakhstan's Astana, and Ireland's Shamrock Rovers.

Cole Palmer joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023. This season, the midfielder has scored one goal and provided four assists in five matches for the Blues.
