Chelsea's head coach responded to criticism about the team's large squad for the season

Chelsea's head coach Enzo Maresca has stated that team players Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell are not in the starting lineup.

Maresca also addressed criticism from fans regarding the team's massive squad size.

«I just try to be honest… I told Raheem he’s going to struggle to get minutes with us. Chilly, he’s going to struggle here too.

I am not working with 42 players. I am working with 21 players. The other 15-20 players are training apart. I don't see them. It's not a mess like it looks from outside. Absolutely not. They can even have 20 years contract, it’s not my point. I don’t care», — said Maresca at his press-conference.

Chelsea currently has 42 players in the squad. This summer, the club acquired nine new players.
